This 5 class series takes a SUPER beginner quilter from the very beginning steps of quilting (how to cut, seams, tools) to a totally finished quilt. We start at the very beginning, hold your hand through all the steps from beginning to end so you can love quilting as much as we do. Class is $45 for all 5 sessions.

In this hand applique class you'll be using Wool Felt and the Summer Sample Pattern. You'll learn various applique and embroidery techniques to make the blocks. Once the blocks are competed you will sew them together to make a quit and a border will be added. Students make select different hand applique patterns as well.

Each month we tackle one of EQ's amazing abilities and design a virtual quilt or two as we learn. Students are welcome to jump in to the group at any point with extra help available as students work their way through the lesson's handout. Color and design tips are included as we create amazing virtual quilts while learning how to use EQ7. Lessons are planned to be frustration free and lots of fun! We will l be spending the fall months studying color and exploring how using EQ to expand our use of more facets of color can increase the beauty of our quilts.

Do you own a Serger? Are you new to sergers and want to learn the basics? This class is ideal for the new serger or those who want to refresh their their skills. We will begin with threading and finish with a take home guide for all 3 and 4 thread stitches on your serger. All fabrics for samples will be provided for you.

Every Monday at 9:30 unless we are closed due to a holiday. Come join this dedicated group who make quilts for families who have experienced a tragedy in their life, for the homeless and for those who have served our country that have come home and are struggling. Their quilts have been given to children who have deployed military parents, children with cancer and women and children in shelters and the elderly in nursing homes. The group not only serves our community here in RI but has sent many quilts to victims of devastating hurricanes and to our wounded Military men and women in Afghanistan US based Hospitals.

Come in any Thurs 5:00 to 8:00. Bring in whatever your working on. If you need help with any sewing project Sue, who has a wealth of sewing knowledge, will be here to help with any problems..or just come in to sew and socialize with others of like interest. It's a fun way to stay connected!

The four square blocks appear to be casting a shadow while floating on a white background. Since this 61” X 74” quilt requires 80 five inch squares, charm packs are great to use. The pattern by Sarah Zimmerman was featured in the Aug/Sept 2017 issue of McCalls Quick Quilts. You can quilt this in one piece or quilt it as two panels and then join them.

This pattern is in the book More Twist - and - Turn Bargello Quilts by Eileen Wright. I made the sample with 2" wide strips rather than 1 1/2" and increased the width of the rows in the chart on page 42 by 1/2" each. So the sample quilt with two borders finished at 62" X 67". I increased the size of the quilt to make it easier to work with the pieces. You will not be using pins while sewing the bargello except to label strip sets and rows. Learn how to make the Big Island Blossom block, a modern interpretation of traditional Hawaiian quilts. In this workshop, you will learn how to prepare the applique (including folding, cutting and basting) and how to apply the motif using needle-turn applique techniques. Learn how Sheri designed the block so you can design your own templates for future projects. We will also review quilting tips and traditional Hawaiian quilting resources. By the end of class, students will have most of the block (finished size: 32 x 32 in) basted and will start practicing needle-turn applique.

Kim's BOM will be held on the 3rd Sat of each month and runs for 12 months. his 62" X 62" quilt is a varation on a Rail Fence block. The pattern appeared in the July/August 2016 issue of Quilting Quickly with the name Belle Prairie. The blocks are set on point with cornerstones in the sashing. Because this quilt is made with thirty eight 2 1/2" WOF strips, you may choose to use a jelly roll. If you purchase the jelly roll at Ryco, you will get $5 off the price of the class. You will need to divide the 2 1/2" wide strips into two color groups of 19 each. I used 19 cool and 10 warm colored fabrics from my stash. It is OK to cut two or three strips from the same fabric FULL There is a waiting list for 2018.
