This 5 class series takes a SUPER beginner quilter from the very beginning steps of quilting (how to cut, seams, tools) to a totally finished quilt. We start at the very beginning, hold your hand through all the steps from beginning to end so you can love quilting as much as we do. Class is $45 for all 5 sessions.

In this hand applique class you'll be using Wool Felt and the Summer Sample Pattern. You'll learn various applique and embroidery techniques to make the blocks. Once the blocks are competed you will sew them together to make a quit and a border will be added. Students make select different hand applique patterns as well.

This is a 2 hour class. Please bring your sewing machine and tool kit as the class is very hands on and you will be servicing, cleaning, oiling and sewing with your machine.

This quilt is designed for beginners who have taken the basic level quilt class. It measures approximately 60 X 60 and features a fabric that you really like in the larger squares.

This class is along the lines of a Block of the month meaning the cost of the class INCLUDES the fabric (even the backing), the pattern, Kim as a teacher, a gift tote bag ( for the first 12 that pay) AND the kit will be all pre-cut for you, so you can start the class - sewing. You will learn to sew dimension flange borders, how to handle biased edge seams, and tips to have accurate seam allowances.

We will be using the Bargello Pinwheel pattern by Diane McGregor. Because this 62" X 62" quilt is made of sixteen blocks, the bargello work is easier to handle. There are two color groups each made with 10 fat quarters (18" X 21") or their equivalent.

This quilt is a varation of Twists and Turns, a pattern in the winter 2016 "qulity" magazine. The pattern makes me think of the links in a chain link fence. You can make the quilt with just four colors for the links (The picture of this quilt will be added soon.) on a white or print background (64" X80") or you can use up to 26 different fabrics - think "stash" - for links on a neutral background (64" X 64"). The 12" blocks in this quilt create a simple woven pattern. You can choose to make the size of the sample which is 54" X 65" or follow the amounts in the parenthesis in the instructions to make a 66" X 77" quilt. There is a waiting list for Fall 2018.

The traditional Dresden plate is used to make this fun table topper/wall hanging. Finished quilt approximately 24"x24" Stop in to pick up materials list. Some cutting is required before the class.

This 65" X 65" quilt has three types of blocks. The center has split curves, the outer panels are half square triangles, and the corners are four patches. By combing these, unexpected designs occur. There is a waiting list for Fall 2018.

Kim's BOM runs for 12 months. Kits will be available for $21 and will include the pattern and fabrics for that months block. It will also include a demo and tips for the block.

The four square blocks appear to be casting a shadow while floating on a white background. Since this 61 X 74 quilt requires 80 five inch squares, charm packs are great to use. The pattern by Sarah Zimmerman was featured in the Aug/Sept 2017 issue of McCalls Quick Quilts. You can quilt this in one piece or quilt it as two panels and then join them.

We will be following the pattern Labyrinth Walk by Christopher Florence (The Guilty Quilter). This 84" X 84" quilt looks like a three dimensional maze and is made with just four fabrics that range from dark to light. If you have a receipt from Ryco for the four fabrics, you will get $10 off the price of the class. There is a waiting list for Fall 2018.

This will be an all-day class to make a quilt that is approximately 60" X 60". There will be instructions and a supply list available after the New Years. You can, however, still sign up!

Kim's BOM will be held on the 3rd Sat of each month and runs for 12 months. On the 3rd sat of each month a kit will be available for $25 and will include the pattern and original Batik fabrics for that months block. It will also include a demo and tips for the block. The last month will include quilt top assembly instructions, pattern and fabric for pieced borders, outer borders and binding to complete the quilt top. This is a very practical and good looking tote for your cutting mat, rulers and rotary cutters. One side is an ironing board surface and the other is just pretty.

This quilt is smaller and would make a wonderful baby quilt. You can use your new skills in sewing arcs together with baby print or pastels colors and make an interesting quilt for a new addition to the family. This class is the forth installment of the Drunkards Path series and uses the book A New Spin On Drunkards Path by John Kubiniec.

This table topper is approximately 42" wide and is made with a 60 degree ruler and a border print fabric. You could also use this as a center medallion in a quilt. Another option is to make strip sets to feature a favorite fabric instead of buying a border print fabric.

This class offers a basic understanding of simple pattern drafting and body fitting. You will create a personal sloper (Base Master) dress pattern from your body measurements. With the completion of your personal pattern, you will design, cut and sew your little black dress.
