Machine Classes

Quilting Classes

Learn a new quilting applique technique each month. If you complete all 9 classes, the 10th class - is free. Each class is $10, payable at the class. The new set of classes is starting in September 2014. Classes will be from 12:30 to 3:30 PM and on the 2nd Sunday of the month except May 4 and June 7. The new schedule is listed below. The quilt is approximately 60" x 60" and is made with a 10 degree wedge ruler. It can be completed as a circle, or placed on a square, or you can to the square to make a bed quilt.

We will be using the pattern by Cheryl Phillips and a 10 degree wedge ruler to complete this 60" square quilt. I made this quilt for a nephew who has become an Eagle Scout.

In this class you will be learning 7 ways to make half square triangles which will be used to create a 60" X 60" quilt. As you are learning each method, you are making the 6" quilt blocks. You can arrange your blocks in any way you choose.

Learn how to use one fabric to create a quilt top with a unique design of hexagons. The size of the quilt depends on the size of the pattern repeat on the fabric you choose.

The PhD part stands for Projects Half Done. This part of the class is where you can bring in a project from one of my classes that you need more time or help with and I will be able to work with you.

You can make this project as a free form table runner or add it to a rectangular background. You will be using a 10 degree wedge ruler (It can also be made with a 9 degree wedge ruler.)

In this project the “Spotlight” is on the fabulous fabric you choose for the quilt center of your quilt! I chose the dragons because I loved the colors and the movement in the pattern. Choose something wonderful from the Ryco collection to suit your décor or make a fabulous gift for somebody special. The accent squares are made using strip sets…..a versatile technique.

This table topper is approximately 42" wide and is made with a 60 degree ruler and a border print fabric. You could also use this as a center medallion in a quilt. $20 per class. The class is currently full, but there is a waiting list for 2016.
