We are SO fortunate to offer two types of classes - Those with guest instructors and those by our in house staff.  This section tells you about our Guest Teachers.  They offer their specialty and teach in our store but you pay their fees directly to them.  You can sign up for their classes in the store or by e-mailing them directly.

SEWING WITH DIANE    
This is a six-session class where Diane is free to assist you in any sewing project. Come and sew garments, home dec items or quilts - whatever you like, whatever your skill level. GARMENT PATTERN FITTING
Come and learn how to make the adjustments needed on your pattern so that clothes that you make fit you! Nothing will be made in this class buy you will leave with a better knowledge of your body and how to make adjustments to your patterns. JODY BECK


Jody is new to Rhode Island but definately not new to quilting.  She hails from Arizona and brings a fresh new set of skills in her teaching.  She loves teaching beginners and focuses several classes for beginners. You can reach Jody at jodysjems07@yahoo.com.

COMFORT QUILT SEW DAYS -- FREE!!!

Come and help make quilts that bring comfort to those in need. Jody has all the fabric for the different quilts featured. Bring your sewing machine, thread and bobbins, and your basic sewing supplies. The quilts will be donated to local charities. WINNING HANDS 

Join Jody as we use Eleanor Burn's method to make the Card Trick blocks for this quilt.  This baby or wall hanging size can be made within the six hours with a little homework.  Feel free to make the lap quilt if you are familiar with setting blocks together and adding borders.  The blocks float so you don't lose your points and are easy enough that beginners feel accomplishment and experience quilters enjoy the quickness of making them - no half square triangles. WOOL APPLIQUE TREE ORNAMENTS 

You will create cute little tree ornaments while learning how to do wool applique. Jody will also teach you how to felt your own wool.  It's a wonderful take-along project to do while waiting at the doctor's/dentist's office, waiting to pick the kids up from school, or while relaxing with

LET'S SAIL AWAY 

Do you need a quick baby or little boy quilt?  Do you wish you could go sailing?  Maybe you're already a sailor.  Come and create a cute quilt with four different sailboat blocks using a stitch and flip method allowing you to use woodgrain fabric for the boats.  Learn how to do this method and also how to use water fabric effectively.  Sash the blocks for a quick wallhanging, alternate with sailboat fabric for a crib size, or make more blocks for a larger quilt.  Learn to use the Quick Quarter 2 and the Angler 2 to make half square triangles effortlessly.  Monday, September 19 10:00am to 2:30pm $37.00 includes pattern

WRAPPED CORD HANDBAG    

Create your own color scheme, shape and size to make a unique handbag. This is done by wrapping cord with fabric strips and zigzag stitching the cord together. Two sessions on Sunday September 11 & 18 12:30pm to 3:30pm  $25

THE DRAGONFLY    

Create the dragonfly from Judy's water garden quilt. With shimmery fabric, beads and thread you will have a dragonfly that is approximately 7x9 that you can frame or use in your own unique way such as a pillow or on a tote! Sunday October 9 12:30pm to 3:30pm  $15

 

THREAD PAINTING    

You get to choose the Lady at Sunset or the Sleeping Mouse.  You will be painting fabric, thread painting and working with three dimensional design. Saturday, November 5 9:30am to 4:00pm  $30

 

PINE TREES IN THE SNOW    

You will be painting fabric for the sky and snow, then thread painting the pine trees.  The background of trees and mountains are fused in place then machine stitched for texture. Two sessions on Sunday November 6 & 13 12:30pm to 3:30pm  $30

 

THE ANGEL     

You will create an angel with thread painted hair, painted face, shimmery wings and a beautiful gown.. The finished picture is approximately 20x21". Saturday, November 12 9:30am to 4:00pm  $35

 

QUILTER'S TOTE     

A wonderful tote with an ironing pad! Simplify carrying your 18x24" cutting mat and large rulers. This tote has a quilted diagonal stripe design on one side and an ironing pad on the other. Two sessions on Saturday, November 19 and December 3 9:30am to 12:30pm  $20

PAPER PIECING Block of the Month

Fabric Collage is a fun way to express yourself creatively in a small format.
